15th April 2017
I spent Wednesday with Phil Hobbs at his home in the Lake District, getting some one-to-one watercolour painting tuition. It was invaluable in helping me to address some specific concerns that I had about my approach, and his help and guidance was superb. You can see Phil's work at www.plhobbs.co.uk

01st October 2016
I am off to Venice tomorrow on a painting course. This is a trip organised by Painting in Italy, and the tutor is Phil Hobbs. His style is very different from mine and the course involves painting outside, which is something I don't do very often. This should be a good one! See www.paintinginitaly.com for more information.

Michael Moore workshop
24th February 2016
24th February 2016
Over the last couple of days I have been working with Michael Moore, an artist resident in the Peak District. We were working on advanced watercolour techniques, and Micheal uses acrylic paper rather than watercolour paper for some of his images. This allows paint to be 'pushed' around on the paper. We worked on two seascape pictures, which I may be brave enough to post on Facebook!

Nether Alderney Mill
15th September 2015
15th September 2015
My latest picture is an ink drawing of Nether Alderley Mill, which is now owned by the National Trust. More information is available here: http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/nether-alderley-mill/
The mill operated from the 1500s through to the 1930s, when the advances in technology and the cost of wheat meant that it became difficult to operate profitably.
